The children have been meeting all summer in the fellowship hall and will resume our Deep Blue Curriculum in the upstairs classroom of the Briggs Building beginning September 2.  This year’s theme is families and we will learn how Bible families were just as different as our families are today as we explore the family of Jesus, Moses, Ruth, Hannah, and Esther and many others throughout the year.

 

This is the description of the Deep Blue curriculum:

“This new awe-inspiring resource incorporates adventure, exciting stories, science experiments, arts and crafts, animated video storytelling, and active games into a living-faith experience that will help children discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ today! 

Deep Blue One Room Sunday School is ideal for churches where children of various ages learn together as a group. The Deep Blue Adventure DVD, a video component, tells 13 Bible stories in a unique and entertaining way, and includes three music-and-movement videos plus the theme song, as well as monthly Bible verses with sign-language demonstrations.”

We are blessed to have a theater here at Calvary!  The kids will begin their session in the theatre to introduce each lesson.  The fall session will continue through November 25th.  In December, we will begin our study of Advent.  We welcome children of all ages!

The teachers will be Kay Sykes and Beth Gallagher. We are looking forward to a great year!
