MIDWEEK LENT: Our journey through the Hills of Lent concludes this week on Wednesday, March 29, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This week at Mount Calvary, we view “God’s own sacrifice complete.” Our Midweek Lent 2023 offerings will go to Lutheran Disaster Response, the ELCA’s ministry to provide short- and long-term recovery when disasters strike in the United States and around the world. Our In-Kind Offering will be items for Personal Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief. This week’s item Nailclippers.
PALM SUNDAY: This year we focus on the “praise” aspect of Palm/Passion Sunday as our Praise Team leads us in shouts of Hosanna! Join the celebration on Palm Sunday, April 2 at 8:15 or 10:45 a.m.
MAUNDY THURSDAY: On Maundy Thursday, our Lenten observance comes to an end and we gather with Christians around the world to celebrate the Three Days of Jesus’ death and resurrection. We remember Christ’s last meal with his disciples, but the central focus is his commandment that we live out the promise embodied in this meal. Departing worship in solemn silence, we anticipate the coming days. Please join us for this moving service on Maundy Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m.
GOOD FRIDAY: The Passion According to John is the appointed reading for Good Friday. This year The Passion will be presented by some of the talented actors who are part of our congregation. The Three Days continue with a service at 7 p.m. on Good Friday, April 7.
EASTER FESTIVAL SERVICES Festival worship services will be held at the usual times, 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 9. The services will include the celebration of Holy Communion, gifts for children, and special music. If you use Facebook, please share our “Easter Sunday at Calvary” event to invite your friends to join us!
